- Defining “chain of usability” as the next evolution of chain of custody: Connecting sample integrity and provenance with the clinical, molecular and consent context needed to determine whether a sample is truly usable
- As science gets more precise, sample intelligence has to keep up: Teams should know whether the right sample exists, fits the phenotype/genotype, and is permitted for use before it is retrieved or consumed
- Moving from storage to research optionality: use connected sample, clinical and consent data to make smarter decisions about reuse, re-consent, retention and disposition as research priorities evolve
